DeHart Plumbing, Heating, & Air Brings the Love Another Year to a Family in Need

June 21st, 2023

Each year, our team holds an event where we partner with Lennox and Love Stanislaus County, a local non-profit organization, to provide one family in need with a whole HVAC system installation. This is also usually coupled with a home makeover, as we do the best we can to give this chosen person a fresh start.

This year’s recipient family was on the verge of losing their home and had received over forty nominations from the community. Throughout the Love Modesto day, DeHart Plumbing, Heating, & Air’s technicians installed the state-of-the-art system, customizing it to meet the unique requirements of the home and the family’s comfort needs. By setting them up with an advanced heating and cooling system, the family is one step closer to being able to keep and move into their forever home.

“My friends and co-workers know that things with the house have been hard and tough on my family. They all stepped in to say that they care and nominated me for this amazing gift. To have all these people here volunteering their time to help me and my family move into our home, it means so much,” expressed homeowner Kurt. “Without having an HVAC unit, we weren’t going to be able to keep our home and move in. I hope everyone here today knows that this is one of the best things that has ever happened.”

The Love Modesto event is one of our favorite days of the year and we are honored to extend a helping hand to a deserving family in our community. From the Love Modesto team to our staff and the incredible volunteers, there was no shortage of love and hard work that went into making a difference for our neighbor today.

From your favorite team in Modesto, CA–continue to spread the love, and contact DeHart Plumbing, Heating, and Air Inc. for your heating, cooling, and indoor air quality needs.

When to Choose Flexible Plumbing Lines

May 8th, 2023
Plumbing tools

We’ve all seen flexible plumbing lines. They’re those cool looking pipes with an almost woven aesthetic to them. You can bend them into place and they don’t leak. No, it’s not magic, it’s twisted steel that forms together into a pipe that can be placed in any position!

However, flexible plumbing lines should not be used for everything. They’re a niche product and they have very specific uses that can make them handy in a pinch. But they’re not supposed to replace every pipe in your home, or you might end up in an over-engineered nightmare.

So, as your local team of expert plumbers, we’ll let you in on some of the industry pros and cons of using these kinds of pipes. They’re a handy tool for plumbing service in Turlock, CA, but they’re not a one-size fits all solution!

The DeHart Guide to “Short Cycling”

April 24th, 2023

You’ve turned your air conditioner on for the first couple of times this season and you’ve noticed something peculiar–it’s running in shorter cycles than it used to. At first, this might just feel like a fluke, perhaps you’re just not measuring the time accurately since you’re busy. Or, maybe your air conditioner just doesn’t need to work as hard this year as opposed to last year. But these are usually justifications for ignoring a pretty serious problem that’s taking place.

This is what we call in the industry short cycling and it’s a devastating problem, both with how hard it can be to notice, and how bad it is for the AC. It’s not just a problem in and of itself, it’s a symptom of some other problems. A professional will be able to tell you all about this when you schedule AC repair in Modesto, CA. And trust us, if your air conditioner is short cycling this spring, then you definitely need professional repairs.

Why You Don’t Want to Do Repiping Yourself

April 10th, 2023

When it comes to plumbing, we’d recommend a lot of things for homeowners to do. For instance, every home should have a plunger and a drain snake. These are widely available at hardware and grocery stores and they’re fairly easy to use without breaking or disrupting anything. We’ll even show you how to use your plunger if you need help!

However, then there are other plumbing jobs like repiping that we’d insist a professional perform. This is because there’s a lot more at stake, more tools required, and the understanding of a plumbing system is a necessary part of it. Master and Journeyman plumbers are trained in this field for a reason, and when you need a pipe replaced or a whole plumbing system repiped, a plumber is going to know exactly how to do that.

Let’s focus today on why some jobs absolutely require a professional plumber in Modesto, CA, and why others might not.
